You can take a free Ohio Statehouse tours every day of the week.

These tours aren't just for school kids -- the Statehouse plays a huge role in both Ohio's history, and its future. Tours are offered 10-3, Monday through Friday, on the hour, and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m. All tours depart from the Map Room. The easiest way to the Map Room is via the Third Street Statehouse entrance. Groups of 10 should call 888/OHIO-123 to arrange for a guide.

If you can't make a tour, visit the Statehouse on your own. The Ohio Statehouse is open weekdays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.; weekends from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.; closed holidays. The Ohio Statehouse Museum is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; weekends from noon to 4 p.m.; closed holidays. Admission is free.
