While you're in Columbus for the car show, you may want to check out some of the other things to do in Columbus. There are military and motocycle museums, and free festivals and concerts. Or, you may just take a car parts field trip. Whatever you decide, you'll have fun cruisin' Columbus.

You have to love a museum exhibit that highlights a "Knucklehead." But there are plenty of other things to enjoy about the three compact shows at the American Motorcycle Association's Motorcycle Hall of Fame. Buff machines by Arlen Ness, celebrities' machines and riding tales, a photography show of bikes as art -- you don't have to ride to love this tour.

3. Festivals and Fairs

Columbus' fall festivals celebrate the cultures, foods, history and people that make central Ohio such a vibrant place to be. You can nibble German, Native American, Italian, Greek and Indian cuisine, watch the Little Brown Jug harness race, read at a poetry slam, sample microbrews, and shop for art, antiques and crafts at this year's celebrations of fall.

4. Summer Movies at the Ohio Theatre

Summer movies at the Ohio Theatre are a 39-year old tradition. But the Ohio is not just any movie house. Architect Thomas W. Lamb wanted to build “a palace for the average man.” The result? A 2,779-seat Spanish-Baroque wedding cake, complete with a 21-foot-high chandelier.

Individual tickets are $4; senior citizen tickets are $3.50. Strips of 10 tickets cost $25. All tickets are general admission, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

5. Baseball, Football, Soccer, Hockey, Hoops

If you're looking for professional sports, there's Columbus Clippers baseball, Blue Jackets hockey, and Columbus' championship soccer team, The Crew. There are also seven colleges in or around town, and you can usually get into their games easily. Scoring Buckeyes football tickets may not be possible at a reasonable price, but you can get into Capital or Ohio Wesleyan football games pretty easily.

6. Motts Military Museum

Military vehicles, aircraft, and a Higgins Boat from World War II are on display at Motts Military Museum in Groveport. The Museum, founded in 1987 by Warren E. Motts, includes an exhibit -- complete with car -- on Columbus native and WWI Flying Ace Captain Eddie Rickenbacker.
