Central Ohio is no stranger to environmental conservation efforts. Whether it’s the sustainable, local foods movement or the Greenspot business program for the city of Columbus, it’s a green day everyday in Columbus.
Several organizations are holding awareness events and offering fun activities for the entire family:
Green Columbus' Earth Day Celebration
The Eat, Drink, and Be Merry...and Artsy and more celebration will take place from 11am to 10pm and it is a part of the “Lighten Up 2011” campaign. The first half of the campaign features volunteer opportunities throughout the city of Columbus on April 22 through April 23, 2011.
The celebration features opportunities to buy and create art, live music, kid activities area sponsored by Columbus Parent Magazine, an education pavilion, food and beverage vendors (many organic or local), free chair massages by Aveda and a silent auction.
Those who volunteer also receive tokens for free Jeni’s Ice Cream or Columbus Brewing Company Beer.
The event is free and open to the public.
