Some famous people have lived and died here. Here's an ever-growing list of births and deaths of famous Central Ohioans:

George "Dubya" Bush's paternal grandfather Samuel Prescott Bush is buried in Greenlawn Cemetery. The Web site Find A Grave lists some of the following famous folks buried in Greenlawn Cemetery:


William Dennison Jr. was 24th governor of the state of Ohio and Postmaster General.
Woody Hayes goes without saying--OSU's outspoken football coach.
Eddie Rickenbacker was America's flying "Ace of Aces" and has an airport named after him.
James Thurber wrote several books and had his own brand of American humor.
Howard Thurston was known as "Thurston the Magician" and was buried in Greenlawn Abbey. Click here for a great picture of Greenlawn Abbey.

19th American President Rutherford B. Hayes was born in Columbus but is not buried here.
