Westgate is located along and south of West Broad Street on Columbus' West side. It was primarily developed in the 1940s and 1950s.

Westgate is blessed with Westgate Park at the center; here is the shelter house.

Much of Westgate was built on land formerly occupied by the Camp Chase Confederate Prisoner Camp. Only the cemetery exists today.
