Looking for a bargain? Aren't we all! Here are your guide's favorite ten places to get it cheap in the Greater Columbus area.
Located at 2631 Park Crescent Dr. East (just west of Brice Rd. and south of I-70), the J.C. Penney Outlet Store is an adventure in shopping, with catalog returns, overstocks, and more. Expect big crowds, especially on weekends and during the holidays. Also visit the nearby J.C. Penney Furniture Outlet Store.
Along I-71 near the State Route 435 (to US 35) exit south of Columbus are the Jeffersonville I and II outlet stores. The two centers feature over 100 manufacturer outlet stores where you can get bargains on clothing, food, housewares, and more. If you park at one there's a free trolley to take you to the other!
3) Book Loft of German Village
If you haven't visited the Book Loft, visit soon! Located in the heart of restored German Village, they have 32 rooms of bargain books and music as well as online ordering (although you have to visit in person to truly appreciate it).
Located on Cleveland Av. in the rear of Northern Lights Shopping Center is Habitat for Humanity's Build it Again Center, filled with leftover and salvaged doors, tile, fixtures, and more to fix-up your home or find that part you've been hunting for.
If you can't get enough home repair bargains at the Build it Again Center, stop in at one of several Bargain Outlets around Columbus. They specialize in discontinued and reconditioned windows, doors, flooring, tools and more for the home.
6) Value City
Known for bargains in and outside of Columbus, Value City always has great clothes and housewares on the cheap.
7) Lancaster Sales
On the southern edge of Lancaster along US 33 is Lancaster Sales. Here you can find a little bit of everything--tools, furniture, clothing, housewares, and more, with prices ranging from average to incredible!
8) Bargain Box
The Bargain Box is an annual fall event at Veterans Memorial Hall. At the Bargain Box charities sell donated items for very low prices.
Yes, there is a Goodwill Super Store, located on the north side of Morse Rd. between Karl Rd. and Cleveland Av. There is a clearance center next door as well.
10) Old Time Pottery
Located at 2200 Morse Rd. west of Cleveland Av., Old Time Pottery is a great place to get dishes, garden decorations, housewares, and more at discounted prices (if you ever meet my wife she'll tell you she got name brand plates there for 50 cents!).
