Different View of Cincinnati

My favorite city to visit is Cincinnati. There's just that "certain something" that I cannot put my finger on. I know that part of Cincinnati's charm is in its history; Cincinnati of course is the oldest of Ohio's big cities, and you can feel that history in Cincinnati's quaint neighborhoods. The hills and their Ohio River views add more to this fun city.

But for me, visiting Cincinnati from the Kentucky side of the river is even better. You get a great view of the Cincy skyline while enjoying the smaller, gentler small towns of northern Kentucky.

When I first visited Covington, Kentucky as a kid in the 1970's, I had memories of it being rundown and somewhat unsafe. In returning last year as an adult, it appears attempts have been made to improve Covington and Newport. While a few areas seemed a bit rough around the edges, I didn't feel unsafe at all.
