Columbus Symphony Orchestra Closes Doors
While Picnic with the Pops is cancelled this summer, it turns out the symphony could be saved with a new labor agreement with its' musicians. Visit the Columbus Dispatch for details.
Interesting, in that all along I have heard the Columbus Symphony was "running out of money". If that is the case, renegotiating employment contracts won't cut it. Is all this just a ploy for cheaper labor? You be the judge.

It’s not a ploy. No major corporation, foundation, or government grant organization (or individual donor for that matter) is willing to give money to a nonprofit that may not exist in the near future. Donors are holding back until progress is made in negotiations.
