There has been a lot of news being made by those who report the news in Central Ohio lately. Back in 2011, the Columbus media mammoth Dispatch Printing Group acquired several publications that were often viewed as the closest thing to competition the media company has in Columbus. Earlier this month it was announced the widely read alternative weekly - The Other Paper - would cease publication on January 31st. The outcry from fans was immediate.
In other news, the Dispatch changed its format to become the first paper to switch to the smaller tabloid format. While the physical size of the paper has shrunk the Dispatch Printing Group insists the amount of news reported remains robust. Reviews are still out on the format change, but the group has gathered a large amount of buzz surrounding this week's launch.
