What used to be a nice, city-sponsored tree lighting ceremony for the city of Columbus has turned into a full on bash! The Grand Illumination event takes place Friday December 2, in Downtown Columbus. The event will includes carolers, holiday treats and the lighting of the Scioto Mile and Columbus Commons area.
City Hall, Bicentennial Park and the Scioto Mile features 80,000 LED lights and displays throughout the area. The Columbus Commons area will boast 100,00 lights on 127 trees, but I have a feeling kids will make their first stop at City Hall to drop off their letter to Santa!
Other activities include a visit with St. Nick, yummy holiday treats and an opportunity to support the Empty Bowls Campaign.
