There are some times when you can throw caution to the wind and embrace things from childhood. I truly enjoy Halloween. Honestly, I don't need much prompting to dress in costume and chocolate needs no invitation. Throughout the month Columbus has several events for adults that embrace everything from high fashion to the science behind hauntings and alien life. After all why should kids have all the fun? They have to be in bed early anyway!
I can't remember the last time I attended a live Rocky Horror Pictureshow event, but this year I'm determined to check out Shadowbox Live's performance. Music, costumes and people shouting out movie lines? Sounds like movie night at my house.
There's another show in town set to delight macabre Halloween tastes - Evil Dead the Musical produced by CATCO. Death is more fun when you sing it.
Now some of us - Morticia and Gomez to name a couple - find Halloween especially, um, appealing. For those who like a little lovin' with their spooks Halloween on the Hocking offers a romantic canoe ride for only $45 a canoe.
Costumes are serious business in the Clarke household. No pre-made stuff for us. So that's why I appreciate those who put the focus on high fashion. Both the Masquerade Fashion Show at the Vampire's Ball (10/29) and HighBall Halloween (10/28) bring fab costume fashion to the masses.
