There hasn't been this much hoopla for green space in Columbus since...well, I can't remember. In the area that used to be City Center Mall is now a wonderful new park called Columbus Commons. It has been interesting to see the space undergo such a drastic change. I have to admit seeing the skywalk demolished was difficult, but life blooms again in the once lifeless footprint of the abandoned mall.
Thursday, May 26 kicks off a weekend-long celebration with live bands, fireworks, movies, games, celebrity appearances and all of it is free! The schedule for this weekend is fantastic, but more impressive is the schedule of activities after the fanfare: free yoga and kickboxing classes throughout the week, kid activities and story time, family fun days, weekday lunchtime events...Wow.
