The State of Ohio offers a wonderful program for citizens age 60 and older, and those over 18 who are permanently disabled. The "Golden Buckeye" card is sent free to those with a valid Ohio driver's license when you hit your 60th birthday. Others can apply with proof of age at most Ohio public libraries and senior centers.
The card is accepted at tens of thousands of Ohio retailers and service providers, including restaurants, florists, car repair shops, dry cleaners, animal hospitals, and lots more. Discounts range from 5 to 25 percent.
