I relish vine-fresh tomatoes. A little bit of salt is really all you need when you have that perfect tomato. And there are plenty of them to be had at farmers markets all over Columbus.
You can have a lot of fun shopping at farmers' markets. And, according to the latest report from the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), we all benefit economically when we support the markets.
Even if you're not into red (or yellow, orange or purple) tomatoes, there's plenty at the markets to tempt you. You'll find vegetables and herbs of all varieties -- many of them organic -- baked goods, free-range chicken, cheeses, flowers, honey, homemade soaps, chutneys and some very tasty brats.

Can’t beat the North Market for fresh ingredients in my opinions. The weekend farmers market outside isn’t too shabby either.
Now is a great time to shop all of the Markets around central Ohio. Not only can you find tomatoes, sweet corn, and onions, but we are starting to see fall crops like apples and squash show up at the Markets.
