If the weather cooperates, kids ages 8-17 can take to the skies on Saturday July 18, at Bolton Field, 2160 200 Norton Road Rd., at the Young Eagles Flight Rally. Those attending the flight rally on July 18 are asked come to the airport starting at 10 AM to register for their flight. Flights will begin at 10 AM with registration closing at 2 PM. There is no charge, but parents/guardians must sign consent and waiver forms.
The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) Chapter 9 hosts the Rally to get kids interested in aviation. “Free airplane rides are just part of the Flight Rally,” said Chuck Hoisington, spokesman for the event. “We hope to build one-to-one relationships between pilots and young people, giving a new generation a chance to learn more about the possibilities that exist in the world of aviation.” In addition to the free rides, pilots will also explain flight safety and how airplanes work
